I noticed that some Bendix 6080WB's have plates with SS looking braces and others have an oval hole in the plates with golden looking braces.
Why did Bendix use different plates?
Does the different construction affect the SQ?

Are all The Bendix's 6080WB?

The ones with the oval hole on the plates are definitely WB's.
The solid plate ones that I have I was told they are WB's but I can't read the markings.
Could they be WA's or something else?

The solid plate ones are also marked as 6080WB on the top, the side markings are not clear.
So yes both types are 6080WB for sure as per markings.

I would guess they were made at different times, one may be a newer version. Do you have any other numbers you can read?

JAN-CEA markings.
One of the original boxes for the oval holed plates has the date 10/63 on it.

I have come across a Tung-Sol 6080WB branded tube that looks like a Bendix.
Did Benix make them for Tung-Sol?

And added to the.mix is the Bendix 6080WB... Now get this....with black.metal plates.. anybody have these or heard of them?
I'm using them and they sound really good I ended up buying 6 total. I also like that they are built like a tank.

found 2 on etsy and someone had a batch of 4 on ebay. I spent 1200 all together. My thought was buy it now because it might be even harder to find in the future.

I just have the two, was surprised they sounded that good the same. Wondering if you grabbed yours from the same seller as mine (doakes718)?

Not sure which sellers I got them from I only paid attention to the fact I wanted them. Only name that comes to mind is leedsradio on Etsy.

I was thinking these were super rare, my graphite plated tube is from Leeds, have another pair coming in today from Great Britain. Super nice tubes, I can't really afford them but what da heck .. just stay home for a couple weekends 😁
@attmci pointed out the listing on the metal pair I grabbed . Thanks @attmci
