This one I might have to cave and get.

Would you say this is a better investment than the Bach Guild sets that are super cheap right now?

The recordings in this one's Bach set are more modern, but the performances in the Bach Guild one might be a little better. They don't stay at thisprice long. They go up to $8 after a few weeks.

Last question before pulling the trigger...

Does the sample collection contain the same stuff the bigger collections eventually do?

CBA at the moment to check all the sets.

The stuff on the sample collection duplicates the music on the sets. No need to buy both.

One caveat... If you buy them all at once, Amazon doesn't allow you enough time to download all of it. You have to contact them and get them to reactivate the download. Best to buy them one at a time and download one before buying the next.

By the way, I've een doing some checking, and many of these recordings are the exact same ones available on SACD on the BIS label at full price. These are first class performances in excellent sound. Deals don't get better than this.

Yup. That pushed me over. Downloading Mozart now. :)

I figured out how to get around the time limit for downloading. If you log into your Amazon account, you can go to the cloud player page and download from there.

I was fine with just waiting. I got about halfway through (up to Debussy) with no issues. When I bought Debussy it said there was an error but when I tried to order again it said I already purchased it.

I'm now downloading Debussy via Cloud Drive and Tchaikovsky side by side.

...and I'm going to put on my new Holst CD while I wait...Mmmm...Planets...

The Gustav Leonard Bach set is great even for seasoned classical music fans.

I have thousands of classical CDs and I'm discovering great stuff. Nearly a week's worth of music for $25. I'm not going to look at the gift horse's choppers!
