Please help guys.

Test wired the balance out of my DAC to a portable headphone amp to see if it works. Well it works but is it safe or am I breaking some electrical laws?

I wired the + and - of the left channel of the DAC XLR out into the +L and +R of a stereo headphone amp input. The output +L and +R was used to drive one channel of a headphone.

My theory is to use two stereo amps this way to make a balance amp. Will anything blow up? If it works I may build a balance CMOY or something cheap just for fun.

That's pretty much how most "balanced" (I prefer "bridged) headphone amps are made, except they put the four channels into a single chassis.

Thanks. That sounds great. Right now I'm imagining a tiny balanced amp comprised of something small like a pair of CMOYs. The chassis can be just big enough to accommodate the XLRs. Maybe it has been done, I forgot to search.
