Perhaps I missed it, but has there been any mention of the impedance and sensitivity?

Standards are high these days but if it includes some wood and/or finely machined metal, a fancy case/packaging and a couple of cables there is no reason not to flog this at £1/2/3000+. Then, after the furore subsides, launch a parred down paupers version for my kind.

Others do it and they don't have Grell's credentials.

May just as well go in at the higher end (but not before supplying me with a non-returnable review sample).

Thank you

Yup, lets give them more ideas so in the future no decent headphone is under $5000.

Aahw, don't worry. I'm (almost) certain it will be (relatively) affordable :relaxed:

It clearly doesn't have any wood and I suspect no case.

The thing that makes me suspect it'll come in around $500 is the inclusion of two cables, but that looks like the only premium facet of the headphone in terms of accessories.

If you look at Shure SRH1540, 500€ price point, come with case, 2 cables and 2 pads.

Wouldn't even be that extraordinary at 500

How many headphones does Drop even sell over 1K?

I'd be very surprised to see this come in anywhere near that expensive.

I guess they can position it next to the Elex ($900, $800?), but certainly seems like that's selling a lot more now that Headphones.com has it and it's $500 ish. Got it at that price and now it's $400. Grrrh!

I suspect the actual audience spending thousands on headphones is miniscule and most such products cannot do serious numbers, unless they happen to be one of the few that breaks through and becomes a standard.

I think Axel was saying last year they would cost in the $300s...
