So Logitech with whatever experience it has in headphones used Graphene and was able to make this G Pro X2 Lightspeed headphone sound quite good (objective review is in RTings). I wonder what would a company like Austrian Audio would be able to do with it. AFAIK Graphene is not as expensive (G Pro X2 Lightspeed costs ~350 CAD with a 50mm driver) as Beryllium used in the Utopias but its material properties are on par, if not better than Be (which takes a role in making the drivers non sibilant). Now the Composer is not super expensive, and not sibilant, and the driver has high excursion .... I am just trying to add 2 and 2 lol.

Graphene (/ˈɡræfiːn/[1]) is an allotrope of carbon consisting of a single layer of atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice[2][3] nanostructure.[4] The name is derived from "graphite" and the suffix -ene, reflecting the fact that the graphite allotrope of carbon contains numerous double bonds.

What is Graphene?
Graphene is a one-atom-thick layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. It is the building-block of Graphite (which is used, among others things, in pencil tips), but graphene is a remarkable substance on its own - with a multitude of astonishing properties which repeatedly earn it the title âwonder materialâ.

There is a longer way to make good & stable diaphragm for loudspeaker or headphone driver. You need material scientists and chemists.

@Trinkle you need one of the chemical player in the background. Hardly any headphone manufacturers produce the necessary films themselves. In addition, one must know how the deformation of these graphene films can be achieved.

The graphene age has only just begun, although basic research into it has been going on for some time.

The next generation of headphones and loudspeakers will show whether and to what extent this technology is suitable.
