I am using an Auralic Taurus Headphone Amp driving HE-6`s.Is there any advantage in using the 4 pin balanced headphone input if you are only using the single ended RCA inputs from a CD player or DAC.

All I know is BAL mode outputs differently from STD mode on the Taurus.

At 32ohm, 4500mW in STD and 1200mW in BAL.

At 600ohm, 200mW in STD, and 1000mW in BAL.

For what it is worth, I almost always go with the 4-pin balanced connector if I have it for my headphones. I only have two headphones cabled up w/4-pin XLR - HD650 and Massdrop x Focal Elex. Just seems as though the output provides better separation and clarity. YMMV.
