so, audio&me was distracting me from working on a paper, so I got to talking about how I think he could upgrade his portable system. Here is what I came up with:

dcs Verdi in a radio flyer wagon (with proper isolation, of course)
modified art di/o (for starters)
modified cary 300sei (he wouldn't accept alternatives)
custom equinox cable for dual mono operation out of the cary
custom sennheiser hd-600*.

what do you think of this portable system? Oh, btw, it is run off of 3 car batteries.

*: really just both of his hd-600s at the same time. he thinks it improves the soundstage....

Sounds good for a 100lbs. plastic tote system on wheels.

Get the Bolder mods too right? Or a rolling pullman for better transportability, and airport conspicuosity? MOH for this beast, what do ya think?

Hey man, the Cary's too rich for portable use. As for the power source, lead acid's weak, gas powered generator feeding 40amps of goodness. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...ID=15464&DID=7

Both Senns? I was thinking combining two drivers per cup for double impact, incredible imaging and bass hump... These are gonna be hardwired right?

Source would be modded Arcam DiVa CD72 btw cause it's sexy.

a custom dual blockhead for powering the 4 drivers?

use a monster truck tire as the knob on the stepped attenuator, right?

But what about interconnects?
DIY is the reasonable thing, you are trying to keep it cheap, right?
