Go with the cheaper alternative

Guys I require advice.
Which should I go for?

Used master 9 from 2019, before the revision. Good condition $750

New master 19 <$1000 with shipping

I like that the master 19 would be new with new features like the updated screen, etc.
But the "old" master 9 could sound better, idk.

ACSS connection form R-1 NOS
Tbh, their so close in sound when you have really clean power. If you dont have the cleanest power, I'd recommend the M9

Same here. I like my units new unless I know the owners. Only bought DI20(non-he) used from my friend. Also the R1N demo(magnahifi)

From my memory I noticed a step up in quality in bass. M9 sounds fuller/bigger, but again the differences are small. Too small to warrant the original price difference. A 2nd handed M9 would have my preferences over a 1st handed M19, which I eventually did, both are great (organic) amps.

Placebo effect by the bigger case? Easy to fall in the trap of expectations.

Got my master19 today. Shipped with the metal remote thought it was not included? Also got a second internal circuitry for the remote but no casing for it.

No lie it run hot I burn my fingertips if I rest them for more then a few seconds.

Nice! Good for you. Enjoy that! It's a great piece.
The underside of the unit gets pretty darn hot.

I'm really curious about getting an HE 9 Mk 2 or 3. I'm curious about the regenerative power supply. Whether it really makes a difference or not. I have a core power technologies 1200 feeding balanced power to all of my components so I'm not sure how much of an "upgrade" the regenerative power supply would be.

Sometimes power conditioners are not upgrades. I have tried a few. The best overall sound on my RH8MK2 is DC filtering only. Both DAC and AMP(LE model) never tried the Mk2/3

(Mk2 is the same internals as Mk3)
( Both my R1N and DDCs had filtering on the outlets.)

Hmm I just touched the upper front. Do I dare stack it with the reference 9 under? Is there some dirt cheap spacers I am trying jenga blocks now but since my cat will love the heat I probably want something more sturdy :)

Thank you for the info.
Just for the record, my Core Power Technologies 1200 is not a power conditioner. It's simply splits the power so it's not 120 volts on the hot but 60 volts on the hot and 60 volts on the neutral.

Yes, balanced power.

All good, no worries.
