Hey guys, quick question for those of you who had/still have the original Audio-GD compass.  I see a couple of these floating around on the classifieds here and was wondering how they stack up against today's DAC/amp combos such as the O2/ODAC, Aune T1, and Magni/Modi stack.  I know there were lots of buzz for the compass back in 2009, but is it considered to be ancient now after 3-4 years?

I don't personally own the Compass, but as long as it has the inputs you need and supports the bit depth/sampling rate you use, then audio gear tends to age well, particularly over short lengths of time like this. Wouldn't say that it's ancient.

I still have the original version of this. Can this connect to a active speaker? I've lost the manual for this.
