Awhile back I compared the stock LCD-4 balanced cable to a balanced Silver Dragon V3.  They were very close with slightly better SQ from the Silver Dragon.  When I got the Silver Dragon and compared it to stock LCD-3 cable it was like night and day. The Stock LCD-3 cable wasn't in the same league with the Silver Dragon -- not even close.  Unless they've upgraded the stock LCD-3 cable, the LCD-4 cable would have far better sound quality than the LCD-3 stock cable.

I've been using all silver cables for interconnects, digital, and headphone cables.  I think it is an especially good choice for LCD-3's and 4's.
 
edit:  silver gets a bad rap because it sounds very bright at first.  It takes several hundred hours to burn-in and smooth out any sibilance.

Solid silver would be fabulous.  I've been wanting to DIY some but never get around to doing it

I think the DHC Spore 4 is the best money can buy; but it costs $1000...
Otherwise I would go with Norne for its looks to be honest.

I don't believe their cables are anymore special than the $200-500 cables.

I'm thinking Norne or Moon. Would go Toxic but I hate waiting.

Yeah I definitely agree; $1000 for a cable is ridiculous and I doubt there really is much audible difference.
Go with Norne; much better build quality than Moon.

For LCD4 i would definetly think of OCC silver in order to improve mid to treble extension.

Really worried about this! I had one of the first few produced and I thought it sounded great. Now, after both drivers failed, I'm being sent a new set of drivers that may not be what I wanted in sound quality. Fortunately, I have good amps to drive them (GSX2 & 430HA) so I'll see if there is any "break-in" improvements.

I tend to prefer the GSX2 but only because it tends to have a more "brilliant" character. The 430HA is much more warm and smooth compared to the GSX2.
