Sounds like LCD-X characteristics...
Can you please clarify what you mean by this? Based on my experiences the two do not sound alike. Thanks.

The person who posted above me in that post was looking for a bass characteristic that was more like an LCD-X than an LCD-2's bass style.

So I just got my LCD-2 Aluminum today and got a chance to have a listen before going to work. The kick drum sounded as if I were right next to real kick drum - yes I have, I play in a band. I'm liking the overall mellow sound signature so far.

Didn't feel that was the case at all for me. When I got my LCD-X I dropped my 2.2 and 2f off at my local fire station...

Anyone willing to share their Harmon response EQ curve for the latest LCD2f? I am not sure I have the right curve as I have no way of measuring the response.
These are my settings in EasyQ (Jriver plug-in):
<Equalizer PatchFormat="2" GainRange="12 dB" GlobalGain="-3">
<Band Mode="Low Shelving" Frequency="22.4296625" Gain="-0.272727273"
Bandwidth="2.44"/>
<Band Mode="Low Shelving" Frequency="169.281943" Gain="1.90909091"
Bandwidth="1.82"/>
<Band Mode="Peak/Dip" Frequency="10000" Gain="-3" Bandwidth="1.47"/>
<Band Mode="Peak/Dip" Frequency="20000" Gain="0.818181818" Bandwidth="1.89996863"/>

What DAC and amp were you using to drive the 2.2 and 2f?

The aluminum edition will sound exactly the same as any of the other 2016 LCD-2 headphones. The aluminum and wood are cosmetic only.

Thanks, is the wood or aluminum edition heavier?

I guessing the wood is heavier. Adorama doesn't list weight of the aluminum model, however.

I work in the wood products industry and I can't imagine any wood being lighter than aluminum, as aluminum is already an extremely light/low density metal.
