My ath a900x are starting to cut in and out. they are no longer under warranty, and i do not have the money to spend on new ones. I mainly use my headphones for gaming, music, movies, and voice chat. These are the best headphones i ever used, and was wondering if anyone might know a cheaper alternative to the ath a900x. I prefer closed headphones like these.

Do you have a budget?

Takstar Pro 80 (Gemini HSR-1000) are great budget headphones.

Wow, no one has mentioned the JVC HA-RX900 yet:

You can also use the cash to repair your ATH-A900X here:

Is that jvc headset better then the superlux 668b, and how are they compared to the ath a900x

The JVC RX900 would have better mids than the HD668B from being more closed-back, but the HD688B would have a larger soundstage from being more open-back. Both are semi-open back, but the RX900 vents are all along the outer part of the earcup and the HD688B vents are on parts between the center earcup and outer earcup.

When I had the ATH-A900X, I remember that there were tiny bass ports around the ear cup and nothing else, so it was really a closed-back. Since your ATH-A900X cable is going out, the HD668B would be a better choice from the detachable cable. Just know that the HD668B leaks sound, making others around you more susceptible to hearing the sound.
