Hi everybody,

am thinking of getting one of the above, but was just wondering if they would be any good plugged directly into an iPod (5th gen)?

have done a search and the general consensus seems to be that the a500/700 are ok unamped, but haven't been able to find something directly on point. what do you guys think - bad idea? tks!

Metalhead? Have you looked into the RP-21 or RP-22x, or the SR-80?

And yeah, the cans be fine unamped.

yup, I do own a pair of SR-80s (and they are awesome!), but don't think I'd want to be using them outdoors and fry my hearing in the process
