After reading lots and asking a lot of questions.
I have decieded to get my HD650 a bottlehead crack as an amp.

I have read the reviews, and found that solder tools are required, and also other technical gadgets are needed to assemble the amp.
Can someone tell me briefyly what is needed which is not include in the DIY package they gave you? even if it is a screwdriver, can u tell me please.
Moreover, English is not my first language, will i struggle a lot when reading the manual?
thanks very much

You will probably need the following:

- Soldering iron and tip
- Solder
- small wire cutters or snips
- Digital multimeter to check voltages
- Extra Hands to some similar type of holder is handy but not required http://www.amazon.com/Excel-Double-Extra-Hands-Magnifier/dp/B0006N73G0
- Screw drivers
- Plyers to bend stuff and tighten parts
- maybe a drill and bits if you need to make holes

In my opinion if your traveling a lot I would consider a smaller portable or table top amp. The Bottlehead kits are not small and they have no bottom plates so they can be easily damaged if moved around.

that's quite  lot of tools!! looks like i need to spend another $100 on those!

basically, i study in college overseas, so i m not sure if i should bring the amp over and over again, or just get two amps, which is ridiculous.

for the multimeter, will these cheap stuff do? or do i need a more accurate one?

and what is solering iron and tips, and solder.
isn't those the same thing?

A cheapie multimeter will do.

Tools are an investment, if you plan on doing more DIY projects you will always have them.

Personally if you are traveling that often, I'd get a smaller amp. You will want to close up the bottom of the Bottlehead with a sheet of thin wood or metal or just have the amp in a box by itself when you ship it.

Both I believe: Check out these tutorial by forum member Tangent

Stick with either Weller or Hakko for soldering irons. Hakko might be cheaper for you if your in Asia.
