hi,

i plan to buy an aos flute dac/amp use it with the following setup:
i own a ibm thinkpad t42. i stream my music with itunes to an airport express.
i would attach the flute to the airport express by optical out.

has anyone tried this and would this work well? any input appreciated

I love the sound of my Flute amp. But they're not being made any more AFAIK.

Do you already have the APX? If not, rumors are that the Apple Oct 12 announcement may also include an APX update. Anyway since Apple updated the firmware to stream continuously, there seems to be far less issues with the APX and DACs.

Sorry I don't have any experience of the APX. However the Flute has worked perfectly with all the optical signal sources I've tried in the past. It's a very fine product.

Ai, we should put up a big "WARNING - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING APPLE BEFORE OCTOVER 12TH!" thread so iPod shoppers don't yammer for weeks on end afterwards...
