Never read it, but my favorite romance-horror-witty-sci-fi novel series is the Faction Paradox range. If you're looking for zombie books that are in journal form, "Day by Day" and "Day by Day: Armageddon".  And then recently I found another series called "Zombie Fallout" That is supposed to be in journal form as well, but I haven't read that one yet.
