If so, a question: Do you hear any slight humming noise coming from the unit when on? Nothing through the headphones, but more like a slight transformer hum auidinke from a few feet away.

I have a Phonitor Xe and Elector and they are dead silent when on.

Try moving it; could be some weird harmonic from the metal case. Mine is dead silent.
