I ran into this book while reading about Silent Hill on Wikipedia, anywho, I was intrigued by the rave reviews and the books supposed fractured and avant garde use of text and pictures. I went ahead and bought it and haven't gotten around to reading it since I'm reading Norwegian Wood during lunch breaks. So is it really as terrifying as people make it out to be?

Terrifying might be a bit of a stretch... it is spooky as hell.

I enjoyed to say the least. It's an amazing story, or stories, and the structure of the book suits it perfectly. I'd have to say it ranks among my favorites. If you enjoy reading and are adventurous, I would definitely say it's worth your time.

Also worth checking out is Poe's album Haunted. If you didn't know, Poe is the author's sister, and she combined imagery from his book and some of her late father's lecture tapes to create an album that complements the book quite well. Harder to find, but worth looking for, is "their" album Don't Be Scared which combines selections from her album and him reading excerpts from the book.

Hope you enjoy the book!
