I've never been there before, but so far, here's what I'm seeing of interest (to me, with relation to this board) that will be there:

AKG Acoustics
Alps Electric USA
Audio Technica
Denon
DiMarzio
Etymotic
Lynx
M-Audio/Midiman
Pioneer
Sennheiser
Shure
Sony
Technics
Yamaha

There are probably others that are interesting, but I just don't know about them

Anyone have any experience at this show?

Ok, well seeing the lackluster # of replies I'm getting, I guess I'll leave it up to myself to make a first ever NAMM show report on any deals I find.

Anything anyone wants me to take note of in particular?

Throw in some company names and I'll see if they're exhibiting.
Otherwise, I'll try to check out the companies that I named.

No one reading this has heard of NAMM or is going to NAMM? Yikes!

Actually I have heard of NAMM but I can't remember what it is.

When is it?

I hope you have a good time. I wish more people had posted to your thread. Please do report on what you see and learn there.

NAMM is the north american music trade show. Happens twice a year, once in texas in the summer (man, what a bad time to be in texas!) and once in CA (LA area.) It's pretty much THE show all the retail stores go to see to find new products, etc etc. This year, there's a special concert with Elton John, Diana Krall, Norah Jones, and a whole bunch of other artists. I won't be making it to that of course

Other than that, all the manufacturers I mentioned will be there, plus about 1000 others, maybe more, I didn't count

The Caveat: Only those in the music industry can attend.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to say that it takes place this thursday through sunday.

So, I gather you since you are going that you must be "in the industry".
one word;.............freesamples.
Maybe IRiver will have prices on their new player, and a release date. I think it's called the IMP500 or something, it's cd based.

Looking forward to your report.

Dude, I'm going on Day 3 of the show...I doubt there'd be any samples left

Dude, that's too bad, you only have time to go one day?
Do the record labels have any thing there?
I ask because AC/DC recently signed with Sony. I was just wondering if Sony will have anything about them.
