not necessarily a killer deal but i got my shure srh840 for $129.99 at futureshop brand new. They usually go for $250 at best buy/futureshop. i practically got them for the used price.

I think one of the great examples of killer headphone deals is a poster sometime ago(last year I believe) bought a Grado HP-2 for 25 dollars at a garage sale.

I think anyone that got their D7000 from J&R when they were dropping them for $600 shipped got a killer deal.

...Bastards.

They're Denon's flagship headphones...There's a reason they're constantly compared to other flagships. lol.

well i hadn't done much reading on them so i didn't know that. i was certain they were good. the reason i was skeptical was because someone liked the shure srh840 more over the denon ahd5000. made me think the ah was no more then $400 and i assumed the higher end was no more then $100 more. but then again i never researched it. personally i have seen pictures and i think they look absolutely beautiful as far as headphones go.

The SRH series and the Denon D series have very different sound signatures. Not too surprised someone would prefer the 840 over the D5000.

Something else to note though, the D7000 actually has different drivers than the 2000 or 5000. :D

I got my AKG K271MKII for $150 from J&R, not sure if that's a deal though, their MSRP is $270 but that seems to be roughly their going price now.

Oh yeah, I bought Sennheiser HD560 Ovations for $1 from a neighbor hosting a yard sale just two blocks behind my house though

it's one of my dreams to be at such a sale and suddently see a R10 lying there:

'How much do you want for that?'
'1 euro'
'I'll give you 0.50 for it'
'Well ok they're not even metal or 'modern' plastic, this old wooden thing, here you go'

To be actually realistic: there was a R10 at Dutch local ebay some weeks ago. I'm pretty sure someone bought R10's for 35-50 euros.
That hurts..
I was too late
