yea or um2 almost as good as dt990 pro? a friend of mine tried my nad e521 with a tara labs cable to headfive to dt990 pro setup and think his i-audio u3to um2 with mp3 320 bitrate better. is it possible? i tried his and not agree a bit. anybody?
I have owned the UM2 and currently own the 2005 DT990. The UM2 isn't even as good as my EC4s or E5s. The UM2 isn't even in the same universe as the DT990.
IMO, someone who thinks a tiny IEM comes close to Beyerdynamic's top model is either delusional or biased. Not only can an IEM not touch the soundstage of a DT990, it definitely can't even begin to compete in the bass department.
Ofcourse your friend thought his gear was better.. after all, it's his gear. I doubt he'd say "Aww.. I just wasted all this money, this sounds like crap compared to yours!"

x2. I owned the UM2 and the 05 DT990 blows the doors off it in every conceivable way.
