I am up skiing or snowboarding at least once a week, the major advantage of having a bunch of resorts all within an hour of home. This season has been pretty good so far and everyplace around here just got some fresh this weekend and more expected tonight and throughout this week.
I have never seen anybody on one of those mono things, they look crazy. I might have to check one out. I tried out some snow skates this year for the first time, they were interesting, not my thing, but still pretty fun.

Check out this early monoski from the 80's!
I can't even imagine skiing on that thing!!!
CRAZY!!!!
I was going through my old pictures when I came across my first monski. This was the first of two riser plates I designed in the early 1980s that used a conventional ski. The plate worked pretty good but in powder, it was like a submarine going for a crash dive. The bindings were a Marker M4-12 that were bomb-proof. I used these as the bindings were secured under the boots allowing a shorter and lighter plate (and these were not light). I think the ski was a Rossignol Strato that were painted over and some graphics of various ski areas placed over. What I did back then to get attention. And no, I did not have the yellow "Big Bird" suit back then (that was 10 years later).
These pictures were taken in the summer of 1985, hence the green snow.
