I recently broke the cord of my out-of-warranty ATH-ES7s, and right now I've inquired about repairing them from the authorized repair center here in Montreal but it looks like I'll have to buy new headphones. Boy, did I love these headphones.
 
Anyways, there were Bose AE2i for $113 (w/ tax) at futureshop, but they're bose, and I know I can get better for less. I need something that I can use on the beat. I commute a lot. I don't mind if it isn't noise cancelling either, but I do need good sound isolation. I'd also love something as simple/stylish/portable as the ES7s and a 2 year standard warranty (I break the cords a lot).
 
Any recommendations? I've been using $5 panasonic buds (which weren't bad to be honest), and when they broke, I started using the ones that come with my phone. The speaker from one of the buds is broken too lol.

Have you considered recabling them? You can do it yourself or let a member make them, either way it should be less than what a pair of new phones would cost.
