I found this on ebay:

I've been reading alot on DIY amps and how some people said that the PINT is comparable to the expensive Hornet, SR-71, among others.... Not being knowleageable about putting together something like that, I found this on ebay. I'm not the seller of this item. I wanted to see if anybody here know what kind of amp this is? Is it a modified PINT? How's the sound of this? I don't wanna ask the seller since all he/she will tell me is that it sounds great...

I have one of these and it is an ok amp, but in no way is it as good as a hornet , SR-71 or a Pint. I own an SR-71 now and also a Pint, and recently sold a Hornet. Of those I believe the SR-71 is best of the lot, however, the Pint is also very good and you can probably get a Pint for close to the price of Penguin tin amp. The pint is more powerful with better bass and detail than the amp on ebay.

I wouldn't exactly say that the Hornet and Pint are equivilent, the Pint has a bigger soundstage to my ears, for example. They are similar in being small and powerful, the Pint drives my higher impedance cans easier. The one you found on ebay is from a Head-fier whose screen name is DieInAFire, his name is Daniel. In fact he built mine, I asked him to build me one just before the boards were pulled. There are some people making them in nice cases now, here is a link, they also advertise in the Mall-fi section. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showt...51#post2164651 And this one is a kit http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=181974.
