The culture has certainly changed from when I first graced these once-hallowed portals way back in April 2009.
I wuz a sprightly 61 years young back then........

Glad to still see some familiar names in this thread. It's been a while since I last checked Head-Fi and wow, everything looks and feels so different now. I still have fond memories of the early days and wonder if I'll ever really get back into headphones again. I'm happy with my small collection though and in fact, have a few that I should sell as they're just collecting dust.

Created my account in high school and purchased my first good pair of headphones from the recommendations here: Grado SR 80. Now I am an old fart who spends most of his listening time using earbuds that came with his phone. What have I become!?
i love that you still have an ipod in your rig!!

Checking in to head-fi after a long hiatus. Was doing some research for closed headphones to keep at work. I'm actually listening to and annoying my coworkers with the Alessandro MS1's that I purchased from Jahn nearly a decade ago!

Well, you're torturing your eardrums less with the default in-ears for a start :smiling_imp:

Ha! It's good to see some of the OG crew lurking around here. It's amazing to see how far portable audio has come compared to when many of us first joined head-fi in 2001-2002. I still have my Grado SR60's and Sony 7506's that I purchased back in 2001 and they still work just fine, although I rarely listen to them, but I cannot sell them for sentimental reasons.

I settled on a pair of cheap iem's (Soniq Pulse) that sound amazing with comply tips so I use those for portable listening with my sansa clip (rockboxed of course).
