Looking to get a set of IEM's, and I want it to sound like my k81dj & c&c amp rig. Anyone got suggestions? I mainly listen to hiphop & other genres. I don't want to skimp on clarity either! budget = 200>

The Westone UM2 is supposed to have a lot of bass. E500 also has some deep bass extensions.

If you can wait, you might also want to check out the Westone UM3 coming out soon?

E500 is wayyy outa my budget! I'll have to research more on that UM2, but can anyone else offer more suggestions?

I've never tried the k81, but the super.fi 5 are supposed to be pretty bass heavy. Some even say the EB's are too much. I personally think the bass on my 5 pros is perfect

I'd agree that the Super.fi 5 Pros are a good match. I have both and they are a great match. I use the K81DJs at work and the 5Pros on the commute.

FWIW you will never get the kind of impact that the K81DJ has unless there's a dynamic driver involved.

You can't go wrong with the UM2's, they are very well built and have the warm sound you're looking for. And yes, they are worth the extra bucks you spend on them compared to SF5 Pro's.

That UM2 does look tempting.. It's twice as much as the Super-fi 5EB!

i got k81 and c&c box and i listen to hiphop and i tell you what. i did the search just like you did and got myself um2. first, the bass it's not even in the same league. and second, um2 it's not a hiphop iem period. maybe you should take a closer look at super fi pro or eb but still either one won't give you the impact k81 can

Try the sennheiser CX-300 at $50, they have deep bass with decent clarity. They sound nice with hip-hop.

I already got the ep-630, which is said to be very similar to the cx-300. Looks like i'll have to rule out UM2. Anyone got suggestions for the e3 or e4c?

Just don't bother with any armature IEMs.. they'll be a waste of your money as they're not what you're looking for.

A dynamic canalphone is the closest you'll get to K81DJ bass.

The CX-300 are plenty bassy. And trebly. Just not very middly (haha that's not even a word)!
