The Jersey Boys are at it again.  This year we booked both halves of the ballroom for the whole darn day -- no more table shifting.  One HUGE space with plenty of tables, chairs, and power outlets.

The famous Miami Mike's bar is right there, along with the bathrooms, an outdoor place to smoke, plenty of parking.  It doesn't get any better than this.  Doors open at 9 a.m. for set-up; the meet in "on" 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And let's not forget the annual trek across the parking lot to Macaroni Grill, for the big big dinner afterwards.

If you're a newbie to New Jersey meets, trust me: this is the place to be!

Our master head-fi'ers, Nikongod (Ari) and MD1032 (John) between them have the smarts and the ears to right any DIY project gone wrong, to critique your rig, and to push you up the knowledge curve.  You will go from can zero to can hero in one day.

Bring it on!  Jersey no longer requires passports and shots for visitors from neighboring states (unless the state is home to sometimes accidentally successful teams with names like Patriots and Red Sox), so feel free to come on no matter where you hail from.

Venue (Saturday July 24th):

Ramada Conference Center
130 Route 10 West
East Hanover, NJ 07936

973-386-5622

Imperial / Excelsior ballroom

There will be the usual "pay what you wish jar" and the raffle jar too -- great prizes.  Plus the usual cut-your-own velcro rolls to improve your portable rigs and sex life.

Post any questions, and we will do the best we can to answer.  Bring yourself, your gear, music, friends welcome,  etc. etc.

In previous years we have had Head Direct, Woo Audio, and Whiplash Audio, all with large tables and lots of new stuff.

We'll let you know the lineup for this year as soon as it is solid.

From South Jersey you would be driving against the traffic flow, so it should be easy (GSP Exit 145 or NJTPK to Exit 15 (or Exit 11 to the GSP, better) -- this puts you on I.280 then it's 15 minutes or so West to Exit 4, 5 more minutes local.  78 to 24 to JFK Pkwy is another way -- 78 West is Exit 14 of the TPK and a brand new exit off the GSP after the toll at like 141.

I was so sad I missed out on the NYC meet, and terribly want to go to a head-fi meet just to check things out and meet the great folks here that I'm considering the long commute out there via public transportation.

Has anyone else made the journey out there?  The only thing off putting is all the bus transfer, still I used to take the Chinatown bus to Philly just to get cheese steak, so this is a possibility.

I hope my schedule is allowing around then.  I'm anxiously counting the days

It was a great time last year, and should be fun again.

At the moment I have a few DIY projects I am working on, and a few backup plans, but no real idea what Im going to bring! I'l post more as my plans firm up.

I would take the turnpike since it's the morning and you'll be whizzing north with about two other people while the southbound lanes are clogged with NY'ers going to the shore. I like 295, but it's really only useful when the turnpike is unusable, otherwise it's a rough ride. Cross over to the GSP right after the Driscoll bridge, then follow your nav. system or google maps directions from there.

I'll probably take 287 to 10.  Basically a straight shot.

That works.  But the Ramada is on the Westbound side of 10, and you will be heading East.  There must be a jug-handle not too far past ... next time I drive up there I will pinpoint the turn for you.  Oh wait -- just turn in to the Loews Movie complex (can't miss it driving East on 10) and that is a jug-handle ... spins you right back the other way on 10, just before the Ramada.  Let me confirm with Google Maps ... yep, that's the way in!

Very true.  Should be easy to make a quick U and get there.

I'm hoping this meet is going to help me figure out some of the probably easy questions I have.

Great to see you Larry!  You've been away from Head-Fi for too long - I was scared!

I am definitely in!  Will tentatively bring:

cans: O2 mk1
amp: Woo WES
source: XA5400ES

we'll see how things go with regard to a Balancing Act, as it keeps getting delayed longer and longer.  I may also have to sell my HD800's before the meet, since I have a newfound jazz addiction, and have bought over 100 cd's this past month

I look forward to seeing everyone there, and another great dinner at Macaroni Grill

that is how I got there last year, and had no problems whatsoever

I'm hopefully going to this meet unless something comes up.

Would anybody be willing to take sometime out of the meet in order to help explain some concepts that I am not understanding?
