Soo... is there any other worthwhile mods for the HE-6 besides hardwiring?

Dipping it inside Mount Doom? Like how Frodor dips the one ring there =p.

Seriously you could turn it into a woody - classy factor increased tenfolds

Oh my, that is just gorgeous! That would not look out of place on Donald Trump's desk lol. Beautiful. Where can that be done? My uncle is handy with wood like that, but that's a pretty serious project lol.

here is an interesting new amp from Kingwa for HE-6

http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/amp/Precision1/Precision1EN_Use.htm

it may as always blow out the whole competition for the price ...

check out the interiors, performance (audio precision) and power output

connecting to DAC using current domain (ACSS) and here you are ...

It looks interesting. Much better than the usual cramped design of Kingwa. The technology detail is hard to follow as usual - but from what I could make out of it - it's similar to many current  amp design (bakoon/krell/ayre).

I'll shoot Kingwa an email on how this compares with the Master 8.

Its about time they rate headphone amp power in watts not milliwatts. Nice amp with a very nice price.

Damn it! I wish I looked more carefully on their site before I bought my Krell...still haven't received it either.

Well to be fair, even their cheapest dac/amp combo can push 2W into 50ohm.

This new amp is two times more powerful than the Master 8 (7W @ 50), yet only cost 33%. I'll come back later when Kingwa answers =p

That amp is impressive for the price. I bet that volume knob gets hot though being so close to the transformer!
