hi, i understand that the re262 is an iem but i heard that it doesn't sound so good unless you have an amp to help power it, if not then let me know so i dont spend the extra money. my budget is $50 but i will expand it a little if a sub-$50 amp is not good enough.

I don't think RE262 needs an amp. It will sound better with one, yes, but not better enough for the amp to become a requirement. I own a pair now and to my ears it sounds just fine straight out of all my portable players, including the weak Sansa Clip, and gets plenty loud too. This IEM is actually easier on the amp circuit because of its high impedance resulting in less distortion and a tighter, better defined sound than on most lower impedance IEMs out of many amps, especially those found in most consumer grate portable players, unless the lower impedance IEMs are amped properly with amps that are designed to handle the lower impedance efficiently.
