Can anybody recommend acoustic music that is different from the mainstream (Jazz, Classical) and is also fun?

As an example, here is are two clips from the movie "Zatoichi"

Please don't tell me to listen to Stomp. If I want the sound of a garbage can next to my ears I'll just go into the kitchen and drop the dishes.

Thanks.

Rodrigo y Gabriela. Mexican guitar duo. Fun and so not mainstream that it doesn't even have a genre.

Try people from the candyrat label (just youtube it). Mostly contemporary acoustic guitar, and quite a different sound!
I havnt tried many albums from candyrat but can say that antoine dufours "existence" is great. Also check out Andy Mckee (also candyrat)

and x2 for bela fleck, though a lot of his stuff is electric, considering the elecric banjo and vic wooten. His earlier stuff is acoustic and some of his solo albums.
