Thanks for all the info! =)
Actually when I look at the stock USB cable, there are only a few pins (just enough for data transfer and charging, I presume). Are there any alternatives with all the pins included?
Been searching the web and bumped into
this japanese site.
Kinda messy, but there are some useful info. The translation didn't help (can't read Japanese). Haha... I've tried

The headphone stops at the line - out.
The cable for the recording is connected from 09pin with 01 and 22pin(GND) through resistance Rx=220kΩ.
The voltage of 09pin seems to change when this resistance is changed, and to distinguish the kind of the port by this.
It seems to be judged that the port is connected when 08pin and 10pin are short-circuited.

Anyone can make any sense out of the "Rx.. 220K... 100k..." part?
Here's some pics I've gathered from there :
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
PS : at post 238, it was mentioned :
"A clear sound seems to be emitted somewhat compared with the headphone output (In my ER-4S&ATH-W1000 + ear).
The white noise decreases, too.
The beep sound doesn't occur.
The quality of the sound seems to be better than that of taking from the earphone terminal."
So this is good news for the hiss we hear from the headphone out.
