Alessandro Music Series 1 2009 "Improved"?

Hi thanks for that.  I was just asking because somebody else on this forum said that due to deeper and wider cups, the improved version should give slightly better soundstage. Pure speculation?

Yes, the 2009 version has the deeper cups.

I just had a chance to compare an older MS1 with MS1i.  I thought the MS1i had a little more (better) bass than the MS1.

I'm surprised they even offer the older model anymore.  Or, they don't, and they just haven't changed their web site yet ...

Deeper cups like all i-version grados. Same cable though I think but 3.5mm terminated, dunno what original MS1 had. Comes with comfie pads.

You just jogged my memory.  It was the SR125i and up that got the thicker cable.  The SR60i, SR80i, and MS1i did not.  Just the deeper cups.

This should give you a good idea.

Also from wikipedia: "The improvements made for early 2009 include upgraded driver designs, enhanced ventilated diaphragms, eight-conductor cable design, and refinements to cup housing, just to name a few"

I think the previous RS-1 had a button on the grill (not the version before that though with the square gimbal rods) but no changes to the shape afaik.

I ordered the standard MS-1. It's been 10 days from my order now and still now trace of them though.. UK owners: how long did you have to wait?

So how long did it eventually take tp get the MS1 from the US? any customs charges?

thinking about getting myself a pair of these soon and I am based in scotland!
