Before I get told search the forums... I have. Does anyone know of any definitive way to make these things more comfortable without:
  1. cutting off the bumps
  2. bending them like a leather glove
  3. replacing the strap (because the straps are expensive... and it just looks confusing)
  4. applying oil
  5. zip tieing so it is always in the maximum stretch

I bought a seatbelt cover, but it didn't fit. If anyone has one, could you please send me a link? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have the Q701 for 2 days and am searching for some solution too.  Those bumps really hurt my bald head :).
The indentations are still there from last nite.  Before I disassemble anything, I want to be sure that I will like the outcome.

I'll say that "working it in", using oil, etc., really won't work if one has a shaved/bald head because it's really never going to work in to a degree where it's going to be soft enough.  The zip tie method only works for so long before it becomes uncomfortable as the weight of the headphones itself will still fall on the bumps and dig into the top of your head.  I formerly had the K701's and I tried everything, and it didn't work.  I eventually just decided to cut off the bumps....  IMO, cutting off the bumps and recuring the leather, or adding a foam/leather adhesive to the underside is the cheapest method.

The best solution without modding anything, honestly, would be to buy a K702 65th ANV or the upcoming K712 and replace the stock pads with the Q701 pads.

Such a shame with this headband issue.  Other than that, I think I like the Q701 so far.
I am thinking about disassemble the headband and flip the pad so the bumps are on top instead but I don't if this will be possible.  Just thinking outside of the box, sort of.  :)
