I have always found the K701 to be less than ideal comfort wise, but just for kicks I tried reversing them and find them more comfortable and perhaps better sounding!

If you look at round pads carefully they have a very slight wedge shape and they just feel more comfortable when right side is over left ear etc.......

Is my head just wierd shaped or do others also share this finding?

u have weird head... mine feels good the way it is.
all i have to do is just move the headband back a little and i dont feel it at all.

I have tried this too (just experimenting) and I think that their "default" position is the best. The pads "hug" the ear perfectly, when I place them backwards this doesn't happen in the same perfect way, there is a tiny gap.

Except the gap of course, the worst thing is that on my head, when placed backwards, the drivers have a bigger distance than in the default position, "eliminating" the bass.

Maybe it's your head's anatomy that gives you more comfort and better sound
