Hey people, just got my AKG K518 DJ's and my initial impressions were wow, nice bass, but not as much nor as boomy as some have said. Well the first thing i did was take the foam pads out and made the cable shorter by cutting and resoldering. They are now burning in. I am very pleased with them, better than my panasonic RP-HTX7 the AKG's do everything better IMO. I love every thing about them so far, very good bass, nice mids (more forward than the pannys) and lovely smooth highs, not the slightest bit harsh.
I would recomend these to anyone looking for cheap portable headphones that sound really good.
Even my mum picked them up and said WOW these are good.
For the £35 i paid for them they are a total bargain.
Will post a full review and maybe comparison too after burn-in (ive heard burn-in is important with these cans)
