Hey guys I was curious of what people thought of the akg k271 pads. I personally like the feel of the velvet/velour a lot, but last night I decided I'd give the leather ones a try (I've owned the cans for about a year and have listened with the velours nearly exclusively).
Like I said I like the comfort the velvet pad give, but I think the leather ones may actually give better sound. It seemed the bass was slightly more impactful, there was stronger isolation, and better soundstage. I think it may be because the leather pads are wider in their inside radius and so they fit around my ear better. This allows more of seal to form and thus some of these sound improvements I was hearing may have resulted.
I'm just curious what other people's impressions on this topic is.
