Might be getting some AKG K240M headphones. They are the later ones, from around 2003/ 2005.
 
How do the later K240M sound compare the older K240M from 20+ years ago?

Supposedly the newer models are more refined sounding than the older ones. I only have heard one of the older pairs, from around the '80s or so, and honestly they have never impressed me a great deal (though I do enjoy other K240 variations like the Sextetts and DF). The K240M is generally well-regarded by those who have heard them though, and for all I know the newer ones may sound considerably better.
