Hello! This is my first post here and I was slightly unsure of whether I should post this in the headphones forum or the headphone amp forum, so sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

Anyway, I just decided to upgrade from my HD280s that pinch my head to AKG 702s.
I'm waiting for them rather impatiently in the mail...

Anyway, I don't have a headphone amp since the 280s did not really need one. I eventually will invest in a nice headphone amp, but for now my options are: 80Gb iPod Video, my PC headphone out, iPhone 3g, or my Yamaha RX-V463BL AV receiver.

I'm thinking PS3> hdmi> RX-V463BL is my best option right now. What do you guys think? Will this be good?

I kind of spent all my money on the headphones so if I bought an amp right now it would have to be extremely cheap. But would a really cheap amp still beat my set up?

Thank you in advance!!

Also any comments on how big of a step up from the HD280s I should expect in sound quality from the AKG 702s?
