Does anybody know how to buy the AKG1000 or any one would like to sell it?

The AKG K-1000 was discontinued nearly five years ago.  You'll have to find someone with a used pair to buy from.  You can also put a Want To Buy ("WTB") ad into the For Sale Forum asking for a K-1000.

Actually, the K-1000 is fairly accessible. Going by serial numbers, it seems that AKG made more than 12,000 pairs. That's probably more produced than the HP-1000, R10, Qualia, Orpheus, and L3000 put together.

 I would say that to find a bass heavy pair is anything but "fairly accessible".
