AK240 Owners: Can you recommend an equivalent desktop solution for less $$

I auditioned the AK240 at AXPONA and it knocked my socks off.  It made my CIEMs sound better than they ever had.  Do you any of you know of a desktop solution that compares well to the AK240 for $1,000 less?  
 
The source will be a laptop running JRiver.  What do you folks think?
