airport luggage scanners - any detrimental effects on an iPod?

... will be going away for a short trip, and will be bringing along my iPod mini to kill time on the plane/bus rides.

... anybody know whether the baggage scanners/x-ray machines will damage such mp3 players if passed through? if so then i'll have to keep it in my pockets throughout hahaha. tks guys!

I'd keep it in my pocket whenever possible anyway, though you're likely not going to be able to get through the airport scanner with it in your pocket. I know there were some talk awhile back of post-9/11 scanner changes that could potentially effect digital camera storage on CF/MicrDrive/SD/etc. I'd probably look that up. Generally though I'd have to say the answer is probably no issue. I haven't had any noticeable problems. Probably a quarter of the people in line with you are walking through with an iPod (or other MP3 player) too.
