I just want to share my experiences with Airpods max and a possible semi solution for those of us who are out of warranty and have problems.
I bought a pair of Airpods Max a few years ago used. Got them cheap.
Didn't have problems for a long time, but eventually I found that they wouldn't wake up and I could only get them to life by resetting them. I found them to be very unstable and unreliable.
here a few weeks ago I stopped putting them in their case. I haven't used the case since and haven't had a single bug. everything works and they start every time i put them on my head. also tested with total discharge and it still works.
I know many have different problems with Airpods max and it is different for many, but maybe try to reset them and stop using their case. It might help so that you can at least use them again.
I thought the fault was with the headdetect sensor , but in mine it is apparently the sensors that register the magnets in the case which make them go into low power mode.
