My HeadroomLittle has a severe channel imbalance at extremely low levels (below 8/9 o'clock volume setting), as do most pots.

Unfortunately, with some mainstream commercial (read: high level and dynamic-compressed) CDs, 9 o'clock is already too loud for my sensitive hearing, using my AKG 501s.

Is there an affordable, non-DIY attenuator to take care of this problem? An very short thread a few months ago by somebody else touched on this issue but there were never any real answers.

Thanks,

Legoman

Also keep in mind that changing the gain is usually quite simple in opamp based headphone amps, so contacting Headroom to see if they could do this for you is at least worth a quick call or e-mail. In theory it would sound better too in comparison to attenuating the incoming signal more.
