Hey All,
I'm in need of a new set of cans. I currently have a pair of HD270's, PortaPros and an ancient pair of Koss HV/A1.

I purchased Screwdriver's cmoy amp.

I also will be connecting through a Yamaha HT-5550 receiver.

My music preferences in a nutshell are mostly older fusion, Zappa and classical/opera (I know...I'm a geek).

Not being a bass head I do like good strong accurate bass.

Price range under $200

Any suggections,

Thanks in advance!

Maybe a Grado or Alessandro?

Take a look at the MS-1s, SR-80s, SR-225s.

Or maybe find a used MS-2 or SR-325.

I don't know if your cmoy can drive HD580/600 well. But if it got enough juice, HD580/600 will be a very good choice.
Or you can look at the ATH line. Easy to drive, comfortable and great sounding. ATH-A900 is a good phone too.
Happy Listening.

I had a Cmoy and out of all my headphones, which isn't many, the best pairing with the Cmoy was the HD580's. In reality it could use a much better amp but if you go with the 580's now you'll have an excellent headphone that you can build on.

why should he ? Actually, the hd580 make a lot of sense. They are almost perfect for opera and quite good for the rest, when the lowest grado are absolutly not suited for opera.

The HD580 have a also a nice bass perhaps slightly loose (compared to higher cans). And the cmoy is often used with the them.

00940,

That would be because he didn't like a reply of mine in another thread. .

Ah well buddy, you bitched and moaned in another thread about nobody helping you so I tried to give you some advice. If you don't like it fine and don't worry I won't post in "your" threads anymore.

GEMINGA,
Can you possibly be civil? Or is that too much to ask?

No one is going to help you with that attitude. You're impatient and rude. Try doing a search and learning for yourself...I think the HD580's sound great with classical and opera as well.
