Absolute best budget earbuds?

The Qian39 is the most comfortable earbud that I own. It is the closest thing to not wearing earbuds!

I'm glad to hear a pair of Chinese ear buds sound as good as the hair cells in your ears. That sounds exciting! I look forward to getting my Q39's too.

Unfortunately the '39 is about 35% more expensive than the SHE3800 which I saw in your profile

. Sometimes you gotta splurge!

Lol. Yes. I think qian39 is the most comfortable earbud I ever own. I listen to qian a lot while working and when I wanna change songs it's the only time it reminds me I'm putting something in my ear.

I thought that until I got my first E808+
(YMMV, of course.

How many Hours Should I let the 808+ burn In for?

About 3 days at moderate volume burn-in for it to reach a decent SQ, but there should still be some mid-bass hump & slightly grainy treble. But, after lengthy usage (I reckon over 200 hours), the grainy treble should disappear while the mid-bass will settle down. The overall sound will then become more balanced while retaining bass/treble extensions (possibly, even deeper bass).

A cheapo hack for an old TDK EB100 earbud with a $2 taobao cable.
Surgical taped (not glued) the front covers for easy tweaking during trial.
SQ improvement still puts it within mid-fi category. I think main culprit is driver limitation.
Will switch back to stock soon. The taobao cable, plug & splitter look nice though.

@golov17 I wonder if the same buds come with the K9.  I know that dap looked a little more promising to me than the S5, but no clue which one actually sounds better.

Benjie earbuds must have! :sunglasses:

Do they come with all their DAPs? Don't mind getting decent earbuds that comes with good-value DAP.
I was disappointed with the free earbuds that came with my Hidizs AP60, I hope the Benjie's earbuds sound better to me.

https://smile.amazon.com/BENJIE-S5-Lossless-Player-Recording/dp/B01KYYHM34/ should hopefully carry the same earbuds, albeit at a more expensive price but with prime shipping.

@golov17 Totally off topic, but considering I know you have a fairly sizable dap selection, how does the S5 perform for the price?  If the S5 is solid, some people might be more willing to give the earbuds a try.

These are really awesome! For the price (which is free!) i put them at the same level as the Monk+ (or maybe above the Monk+ as again, they are free!) when driven right. The bass presence, details in mids and upper and the depth of soundstage is no slouch. And the Y shape wire seperator is a nice touch too!

Benjie earbuds must have! :sunglasses:
