A "You like band "X" and want other bands like them" web site

Well crap, when I put a post up about it, it then goes down. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Edit
Now it's back up.

Interesting.

I put in the LA punk band X, and the closest connection was the Dixie Chicks.

Pavement is much closer as Stephen Malkmus is right next door.

Cool. Will play around. Thanks for the tip.

This site is fun. Visually fun/cute. Gave it a reasonable obscurity test with 'Celtic Frost-Bathory-Hellhammer' search & it passed the test. The only negative is the audio streams cut in & out. I prefer this to AMG's written descriptions of similar bands.

Adding to my 'Favorites' right now!

this has been done before... I like this one personally: http://www.gnoosic.com/

EDIT: woah! I finally got a look at the site (sorry for shooting off my mouth about gnod before seeing it) and it is really cool... not exactly the same as the link that I posted... the visual representation is nice... I think I will use both of these sites in the future...

EDIT2: no problem eyeteeth... lol

Wow, that's really a cool site. While i don't agree with some of their classifications, the idea of someone doing that really is worthy of note. It has the types of bands i listen to suprisingly well covered (Last 5-10 years of indie music)

It gives a single written suggestion. The other is better.

edit: oops sorry philodox, didn't realize you revised.

It also seems like Norah Jones is the Jupiter of artists.

It also seems bizzare to give interpol a large place on the musical chart, given that they basically are a modern recreation of joy division

I was just randomly going through old posts. I think this deserves a bump
