Hey guys and gals, a newbie here with a basic question.
I'm looking to try a tube inte. amp... I know there are good SS's out there too, but I want to try a tube this time.
My situation is this. I've been using a Yamaha HTR 5640 (a basic 6.1 one) so far, but since I'm moving to Boston to a small apartment (living room about 12x12?) I'm only saving my main speakers and the subwoofer.
I'm thinking of a Jolida 502 RC (nice to have a remote... can't live without it for now but who knows). It says it has a 50W output per channel.
My speakers are Ascend acoustics 340 SE and a Yamaha 10" subwoofer (50Hz is the minimum freq).
Do you think a 50W would be good enough? I don't listen very loudly, and like to listen to classical music, mainly violin concertos or piano sonatas, Beethoven and Brahms symphonies.
The current receiver has 75W per channel, but I don't really think the loudness is a problem in a larger living room now.
What do you think?
Thanks!
