I am quite confident that the Calyx M, the HA-2 and the Etymotic ER2XR can play metal very well. I am not an expert, but now listening to ACDC Thunderstruck (Live), track is fast, impactful and very detailed. Just my 2 cents in this specific genre I do not know very well

In my opinion, the tighest sounding set up from the Calyx M (ignore the music displayed)

Really? Maybe they updated the firmware after I stopped using mine.

I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing though. I am talking about browsing by Folders as you have them organised on your compact flash disc. In my case, my files are Genre > Artist > Album. So I find what I want easily since I organised it. This is how I browse on the Lotto, as you can on most DAPs. It is very basic feature and was always missing on the Calyx M.

I wondered if that's what you meant. What it calls folder view seems not to allow you to do that no. It just lists all subfolders in one big list. The folder hierarchy is lost.

FYI to add "folder" view you go to settings, the Library menu and there it lets you select which options you want to list the library under. "Folder" is one option.

Spent a week without DAP. Only iPhone SE 2020 with Final E1000. Tonight, back to the Calyx M with my custom P-ear-S Audio UT-3. Same songs played out of both « set-ups ». Well, what a week without the Calyx M can do. I know why this DAP is praised, even today and taking into account its shortcomings. Soundwise, just delicious.

No Calyx M left on Jaben Singapore shop. They are now sold out... I am very interested to see how their quote will raise within the next months...

OOT: the Cayin N3 Pro, pre-order, free leather-case, SGD 636.- shipped to Europe. I got one in the order, the CHF/SGD exchange is pretty good. Let’s see if Cayin is able to put this so-called warmish magic signature in this N3 Pro. Warm yet detailed sound lover in here:point_up:
