Free Shipping and the reviews are positive:

I got the 20 page brochure for this cable at CES and you guys are all missing some really interesting details about this product. Come on people, research!

Did you know that the special 'high purity copper' is mined by hand...meaning NO tools of any kind...by Tibetan Lhamas for their entire life? Only when these Lhamas reach true Enlightenment while digging will that copper be used. All the rest is thrown into an active volcano.

The design for this cable started in the mid 1940's. Denon started the R&D using the best scientists who had just left the Manhattan Project. They didn't even know how it would be used, they just knew it HAD to be done. Einstein himself was rumored to have weighed in on certain design aspects.

The heat shrink tubing is applied by the heat of the eternal flame on JFK's grave by a first generation Kennedy.

The sheathing material is knitted in zero G on NASA's 'vomit comet' jets. Did you know only 4 inches of it can be knitted a day? Yeah, see, you feel pretty dumb now.

Finally, each cable is encased in a gold sarcophagus and flown to the Vatican on the lap of Tom Hanks for blessing. Denon's shipment facilities are just outside of the Vatican.

Someone needs to publish a book of bizarre Amazon products and their reviews. And, of course, sell the book on Amazon.

Not exactly, but one reviewer has revolutionized his corn (with a p for the c) collection:

With over 45% of my annual budget going towards my increasingly large pornography collection, I needed a stress-free solution for moving all my smut-laden data from one location to another. This cable does just that. Never before have the streams of ones and zeros that are somehow combined to create glistening buttocks on my HDTV been so at home. When I turn off all the lights I can almost hear tiny moans being made by my PC every time I insert this cable.... over and over again. I only gave it 4 stars because for some reason this cable didn't de-pixelize my Japanese **** collection.

It's got the length, but unfortunately the width is lacking. That's not going to arouse many ladies' interest (but perhaps a Giraffe, if you can find one).

Are you sure this is an ethernet cable? Denon has a "Denon link" for their SACD players to interact with their receivers. I am not saying it makes any difference whether you use the link that they include with their compatible SACD players or if you buy this one, but I do now that there are wide range of prices for Coax and optical digital cables.

I read some of the reviews at Amazon and they were pretty funny.

I use Denon Link and am not going to lie. If they knocked $490 off that thing, I'd be all over it.

BTW it is a common (well in specification anyway) ole ethernet cable of the RJ45S standard I believe.

Yeah it is a good ol RJ45S cable... and it is sending a phatty digital signal you'd need some major major interference for it to need anything more than normal good ol plastic cat-5 cable shielding.
