I used to have the Panasonic version of this console. It was like an early Playstation, and most of it;s games ended up on playstation. The console broke a long time ago, and I sold the games for quite a bit of cash, but I saw this on ebay:

I wish sony or microsoft would come out with something like that for PS2 or XBOX!

Man, I wish I hadn't sold those games. Gex, Shockwave, Slayer, DOOM 3DO. These were my introduction to gaming!

Heh, I still have my 3D0. When they stopped making games, all the places around here had clearance sales and I picked up a ton of them at really cheap prices. Too bad the majority of them are pretty bad games. Samurai Showdown was awesome as was Street Fighter 2. Perfect arcade conversions at home. Samurai Showdown even had the scaling that the other console versions couldn't pull off. It also had the best version of Wing Commander 3. Way better than the PC.

That system was ahead of it's time more than any other video game system. To bad the price was initially ridiculously expensive and there were way too many crappy games.

I did the 3DO thing, and loved it.

Gex, Return Fire, Wing Commander III, Need For Speed, Road Rash, and Twisted. It's also the only console that has the full talking version of the best game ever made: Star Control II.

Good fun.

Alright, It wasn't really my first gaming experience, but it was the first console i owned. My first gaming experience was super dodgeball for the nes, which i picked up at a garage sale last year along with the nes advantage joystick. Since I got my 3D0 at a pawn shop, I only had the first disc of shockwave 2, so I'm going to see if I can find an NZ-10 or Goldstar to finally finish that game.

I think what killed the 3d0 was the 700 askin price. what was the playstation when it first hit shelves? I remember a huge marketing blitz for the 3d0, but not the ps at first.

Looks like you can still find some.

Funny my first experience with computers was a supped up Colecovision console.

I had a colecovision system, the graphics were so much better than Atari's systems of which my cousin had them all. Check out these websites I found :

That 3DO card is ISA, do they even make ISA slots anymore? I know my computer doesn't and it's 2 years old.

Here's one.

My neighbor and I had a war. You know Atari (soon to be called the 2500) versus Intellivison versus Colecovision versus Atari 5200....

But it really all started when we got our hands on a Magnavox Odyssey 2. The excitement of a game. The mind of a computer!

Who remembers that?
